Total Underbody Defense
While the factory skids are often just thin sheets of stamped metal, this collection provides heavy-duty, frame-mounted protection. The kit is a modular system that works together to create a smooth, sliding surface, allowing you to glide over obstacles that would otherwise cause catastrophic damage to your drivetrain or fuel system.

The Collection Includes:

• Front Skid Plate: Protects the radiator, oil pan, and front differential. Features a built-in oil filter access door for easy maintenance.
• Transmission Skid Plate: Shields the transmission and offers partial protection (approx. 50% coverage) for your catalytic converters.
• Transfer Case Skid Plate: Wraps around the transfer case to prevent casing cracks during high-centering.
• Fuel Tank Skid Plate: Replaces the weak factory plastic or thin metal cover with a rigid shell.
• Lower Control Arm (LCA) Skids: Protects your front suspension's mounting points and helps prevent "hang-ups" on rocks.
  • Note: Lower Control Arm (LCA) Skids always come powder-coated black from the factory, even if the rest of your kit is ordered RAW.

Material Choice: Steel vs. Aluminum

• 3/16" Steel: The gold standard for rock crawling. It is designed to take repeated, heavy impacts. (Total weight approx. 160 lbs).
• 1/4" 5052 Aluminum: Ideal for overlanders focused on weight savings and fuel efficiency. It provides excellent protection for moderate to technical trails and will never rust. (Total weight approx. 80 lbs).

• This collection is 100% bolt-on. It utilizes existing factory mounting holes in the frame, meaning there is no drilling, cutting, or welding required. You can return your vehicle to stock at any time.
• Professional Installation: Installing a full skid suite is a heavy job. The Overland Outfitters team in Surrey, BC, can handle the complete installation for you. We’ll ensure every plate is aligned, torqued to spec, and rattle-free before you hit the trails.

Pro Tip: If you frequently drive in the snow or near the ocean, we highly recommend the Aluminum version or choosing the RAW Steel option for local powder coating. Local coating allows for a thicker application that stands up better to the road salt used on BC highways.
