Installation Information

The transfer case skid is a core component of any serious armor build. While it is a direct bolt-on part, the install process is much smoother with a little preparation.
DIY Installation Tips:
- Weight & Balance: This plate is heavy (especially the steel version). We recommend using a floor jack or a set of jack stands to hold the plate in position while you start the bolts.
- Hardware Prep: To prevent seizing due to road salt and grime, we highly recommend applying a small amount of anti-seize to the threads of all mounting bolts.
- Keep it Loose: Start all bolts by hand first. Do not tighten any single bolt until all hardware has been threaded in; this allows you to shift the plate slightly for perfect alignment.
- Tools Required: You will need a standard metric socket set (typically 12mm, 14mm, and 17mm) and potentially an extension for better reach.
