The Toyota Tacoma is the benchmark for mid-size off-road and overland builds, but as we add heavy steel bumpers, winches, and recovery gear, we start to find the factory's weak points. The front frame horns on the 2nd and 3rd Gen Tacoma are made of relatively thin sheet metal. When you hang a 150lb bumper off the front those frame horns can flex, fatigue, or even tear.
