Description
Description
Experience the ultimate "sling-shot" extraction with the Freedom Recovery Gear TuggERR Kinetic Recovery Rope. Proudly manufactured in Canada, this 30ft custom-spliced, double-braid nylon rope is engineered to turn the energy of a recovery vehicle into a smooth, powerful pull, getting you out of mud, sand, or snow with ease.
Key Features
- Premium Canadian Craftsmanship: Made from 100% high-grade nylon yarn and custom-spliced for maximum durability.
- Military-Grade Performance: Meets rigorous military specifications (40-GP 16M Type 1) for double-braid nylon (DBN).
- Kinetic Energy Advantage: Designed with controlled stretch to absorb shock and provide a "slingshot" effect, reducing stress on both vehicles.
- Built to Last: High-strength, abrasion-resistant fibers with a signature Yellow ID tracer and available in the high-visibility Fire Cracker colorway
Sizing Guide (3:1 Safety Factor)
To ensure maximum safety, select the rope diameter based on your vehicle's Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW):
| Rope Diameter | Max GVW | Suggested Vehicle Type |
| 5/8" | 4,000 lbs | UTVs, Side-by-Sides |
| 7/8" | 7,000 lbs | Jeeps, Tacomas, Mid-size SUVs |
| 1" | 9,000 lbs | Full-size Land Cruisers, 1/2 Ton Pickups |
| 1 1/4" | 14,000 lbs | 1-Ton Trucks, Heavy Machinery |
The "Crawl, Walk, Run" Method
Kinetic recovery is about momentum, not brute force. Follow these stages for a safe extraction:
- Crawl: Apply steady tension to see if simple traction is enough to move the stuck vehicle.
- Walk (2–3 mph): A walking pace generates significant force—often all you need for most recoveries.
- Run (5–6 mph): Reserved for heavy-duty extractions. This speed exerts tremendous force; ensure all attachment points are secure.
Safety & Maintenance
- Safety First: Always use rated, frame-mounted recovery points. Keep spectators well clear of the recovery zone.
- Mind the Knots: A knot can reduce a rope’s strength by up to 50%. If you must use one, a Bowline knot is recommended as it is the easiest to undo after loading.
- Wet Rope Warning: Using a nylon rope while wet will temporarily reduce its overall strength.
- Equipment Care: Avoid sharp edges and abrasive surfaces. Check your splices before and during every use.
- Pro Tip: For the safest setup, use the TuggERR in conjunction with soft shackles rather than traditional steel shackles.
Technical Definitions
- Minimum Breaking Strength (MBS): The absolute minimum force required to cause the gear to fail.
- Working Load Limit (WLL): The maximum weight the rope is designed to handle during regular operation (set significantly lower than the MBS for your protection).
